Lovćen

The steep road from Kotor to Lovćen is the oldest in Montenegro, leading to Lovćen Mountain and its eponymous national park. Built in 1884, the road features 25 sharp bends (serpentines). Popular serpentines wind through wild forests, abandoned villages, countless viewpoints.

After about an hour’s drive, you reach an altitude of 1500m, where you’re greeted with a breathtaking view of the entire Bay. There’s a legend that one of the bends, marked with the letter M, was named after the daughter of the last Montenegrin king, Milena Petrovic Njegoš.
